All Skill Levels Welcome
Join photographers Don Toothaker and Ron Phillips on an evening walk in historic Salem, Mass. The walk will begin at the blue hour but will be focusing on shooting at night. Don will discuss Exposure, Subject Development, Image Composition, HDR, Black & White Photography and more. Photographers of all skill levels are encouraged to attend.
The city of Salem is synonymous with the Salem Witch Trials of the late-1600s, and although the trials took place outside what is now commonly known as Salem, the city has adopted them as part of it’s identity. Many of the city’s cobblestone walks, 17th-19th century houses & architecture, and cemeteries have been maintained, reflecting Salem’s identity as a haunted community. What better area to photograph in the cool, haunting fall weather than Salem at night?
We will begin at Salem Common and the Old Burial Ground in downtown Salem for some early evening photographing. As we move into the dark, we will produce “ghosting” images.
